Working conditions on the south shore were far from ideal today, a good 3-5' east swell with a sw beeze on it.

 Not many recreational boats out today considering blackfish season opened yesterday. Wish the one boat that was anchored on my gear would of moved off after I arrived on site, when he saw he was interfering with my haul back.

 Now if you were anchored up in the lobster pot zone and you saw the lobster boat arriving to work it's gear, would you or wouldn't you up-anchor and let the boat do it's job? or would you just ignore the situation and fish on.

Yesterday and again this morning, the fog is thick as a brick! Missed yesterdays go-out, the 20 mile marker had 3.5 ft+, tide was almost all the way out, and couldn't see the swell across the inlet. Was going to follow Capt. Al out but changed my mind. Being that fluke is over for the season and tog is open, all the party boats are fishing around my gear hunting tog and black sea bass, pulling pots amoungst the anchored up boats in the fog is just not my cup of tea. I can reset by the #s, but I still like to see who's out in front of me.

Last 3 days for Tobay Boat Show. I hope the fog burns off early, the boats will need a good wipe down this morning. See you there at the Islander booth.

Yo! The Tobay Boat Show is now officially over. Nice meeting all the new people and all my old friends. I just love the yin/yang of my life, get my dose of humanity then go to sea to catch those bugs and fish! Hooo! Hoooo!

The season is finally about to change, keep in touch to make sure I sailing and catching those fresh caught fish and lobsters.

Waiting for Noel to move up the coast and provide some decent waves --- it's been a while but I'm ready now!

Waking up to some cloud cover today, the day before Thanksgiving. Hope all is well with my many friends and family.

I'm doing the cooking for the family this year. 

Already got the shopping done, breast of turkey and a honey ham along with creamed sweet potato, my home made string bean cassarole, cranaberry sauce and stuffing this year. not to forget the apple pie and key lime pie for dessert!

This is what thanksgiving is all about

First snow of the season arrived on Long Island late last nite and into this moning, a dusting of a half an inch or so.  Wakes you start humming "White Christmas" LOL>

Snow yesterday, rain last night and today, a howling w/nw wind blowing at 30+ mph with the occasional gust to 40mph. Not what you would call good fishing weather. Glad most for the traps were brought in already. Still looking for a window to get out and grab my remaining gear and finish up for the season.

I think my blog is back on track.

Waiting for a front to pass so we can sail and set some more gear. Have 50 more traps on board and just standing by.

It looks like an early season as we pulled 100 traps last thursday and had 20 keepers along with a bunch of eggers.
